Jose R. Toledo, M.D., Medical Director
A well-rounded and accomplished individual, Jose R. Toledo, M.D., is the Medical Director, CEO, and Founder of Neurodiagnostics*, which was established in Stuart, Florida in 1993. In 2011 he founded Neuropsychiatric Addiction Clinic.
Dr. Toledo is a neurologist with 25 years of experience and has been in private practice since 1991 on the Treasure Coast of Florida. Dr. Toledo completed his neurology training at the State University of New York and his Fellowship training at the University of Pittsburgh in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology. He also completed 24 months of acute inpatient psychiatry at the Western Missouri Mental Health Center, University of Missouri in Kansas City. In 2008, Dr. Toledo participated in and was certified in the continuing medical education activity entitled Buprenorphine and Office-Based Treatment of Opioid Dependence from The Medical University of South Carolina during which began his quest to found and head Neuropsychiatric Addiction Clinic.
Dr. Toledo is a brain specialist with particular competence in addiction medicine and out-patient detoxification treatment. He is certified to prescribe Buprenorphine (Suboxone). He incorporates his background in neurology into the addiction field . Dr Toledo is member/fellow of The American Medical Association, The Florida Medical Association and The American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Jennifer Rae, President/Director of Admissions
A passionate and dedicated Director, Jennifer Rae brings heart and compassion to her role as our Director of Admissions, with over 10 years of experience in the Healthcare field. A key player in the development of New Life’s program she has made it her life’s purpose to ensure that each and every client’s medical, Emotional, and spiritual needs are exceeded while here. Her dedication begins from the moment she is contacted, gently guiding clients and their families through the intake process, through the insurance verifications and authorizations, an often cold and thoughtless process she ensures clients and their families’ emotional needs are priority number one, then personally ensuring that their transition from home to treatment is as smooth and comfortable as possible.
Aurelio Ayuso, MSW, LCSW, CAP, ICADC, Chief Operating Officer/Clinical Director
Aurelio has been working with those that suffer from the disease of addiction adult and juvenile alike for over 10 years, beginning in the United States Navy where he proudly served for 20 years working with those that were succumbed by addiction due to trauma and continuing his passion for helping those in need locally in Central Florida. Specializing in Addictions and Trauma, he has worked first as a therapist , then as the clinical supervisor to both, the Juvenile and Adult Drug Court programs in Brevard County.Aurelio has been instrumental in developing substance abuse treatment programs directly tailored to help those that also suffer from complex trauma due to their addiction. He has been recognized by several organizations for his forward thinking and ability to tailor treatment to individuals in the most restrictive environments. Mr. Ayuso received his Graduate Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as Certified Addictions Professional in the State of Florida, and Internationally Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor. Aurelio specializes in the treatment of Addiction, Trauma, and Abandonment using strength-based strategies deeply rooted in Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness Therapies. Aurelio brings his passion and dedication to Neuropsychiatric Addiction Clinic developing curriculums that foster the belief that by addressing the mind, body, and spirit together, the Disease of Addiction can be addressed successfully.
Moniqua Pryor, Administrative Assistant
Ms. Pryor is perfectly positioned in her role as Administrative Assistant between the Port St. Lucie treatment team and our clients and their families.She usually can be found at the epicenter of our office where her 5+ years of experience working at Liberty Medical laid the groundwork for her successful management of a myriad of expectations from colleagues and clients.Originally trained as a tech, and how to monitor Neurofeedback, she has an understanding of many aspects of the treatment team needs.Ms. Pryor is the definition of considerate, compassionate, and professional, as she handles whatever comes her way with grace, dignity, and a smile. When not at New Life, you can find Ms. Pryor advocating for young women, and children, as a guardian ad litem, or fulfilling her role on the youth board at her church.She continues her education in the field of therapy, thus allowing her to grow with our team.
Doreen Collins, Outpatient Coordinator
Doreen brings over 15 years’ experience in the field of Management, first as a government contractor serving those who serve and later in the medical field providing care to clients through scheduling and the often times stressful financial requirements, her compassion and dedication is what has drawn her to join our team in 2012. Since then she has been an integral part of the Outpatient Suboxone program ensuring clients have a compassionate and caring advocate there to serve their needs and be a liaison between them and the medical staff.Prior to joining us here at New Life, she resided in New Jersey area where she proudly served on various government departments until her transition to Florida in 1992.
Dr. Ney F. Andujar, M.D., Psychiatrist
Compassionate and motivated, psychiatrist Dr. Ney F. Andujar graduated from the Univ Nac’l Pedro Henriquez Urena, Esc De Med, Santo Domingo, Dom Rep in 1988. He works in Port Saint Lucie, FL and specializes in Psychiatry. Dr. Andujar is affiliated with Port Saint Lucie Hospital. You can now find Dr. Andujar at Port St Lucie Hospital, running his private practice, or at Neuropsychiatric Addiction Clinic aiding patients with addictions.
He joined New Life in September 2014. Since then, he has helped change the life of many people suffering from the disease of addiction. Dr. Andujar is motivated by the countless patients who suffer and who can be helped by good and compassionate care, which is just what he delivers.
Lisa Perrotta, RN, Medical Nurse
Lisa has over 15 years of experience as an RN, with an extensive background in cardiology. The past 5 years of her career has been spent working in the psychiatric field with a strong focus on substance abuse. Under the direction of Dr. Jose Toledo, Lisa ensures that all clients are as comfortable as possible throughout all levels of care.
Liza Hough, LPN, Medical Nurse
Liza, an LPN who attended and graduated from Palm Beach State University brings her passion for helping those who are struggling with addiction to the New Life Medical team. She is a dedicated and compassionate nurse, who has been working in the substance abuse/psychiatric field for 9 years. Her desire to work with at-risk populations and unique perspective personify New Life’s medical team vision of compassionate medical care.
Stephanie Klein, Registered Dietitian
Stephanie is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and licensed in the state of Florida. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and completed her Dietetic Internship at Sodexo Mid-Atlantic in Bethesda, Maryland.
Stephanie works with clients to help them find food freedom with mindful and intuitive eating practices. Her passion is to help clients reject diet mentality and learn the truth about nutrition and health.
When Stephanie is not working as a Dietitian she teaches yoga at a local fitness center and yoga studio. In her free time, she loves going to the beach, taking fitness classes, and spending time with her fiancé and rescue animals.
Wendy Grennan, MS, LMFT
Wendy Grennan, MS, LMFT, graduated with a Master’s of Science in Marriage and Family from University of Rhode Island in 2012. She has experience working with severe mental health and substance abuse in hospital and outpatient settings. At the center of her foundation, Wendy employs a cognitive behavioral approach, as well as solution focused and systemic. When Wendy is not working she enjoys traveling and reading.
Debi Habyan Geotis RN, Holistic Therapy
Debi Habyan Geotis is a Registered Nurse with a Masters degree in Nursing and a Registered Yoga
Teacher. She comes with years of chronic disease nursing and worked in the Healthcare industry as
Consulting Director for Health Care Plans. She also has extensive experience in patient education and
the disease of Addiction. She works with clients to achieve focus and mindfulness, offering tools for
physical healing and for connection to the mind and spirit with the body. She has a certificate of
participation from Duke Integrative Medicine in North Carolina, on healing the body from chronic
disease and cancer, focusing on mediation and healing poses or movement. She aligns her classes with the 12 Steps of Recovery.
Garland (Odie) Anderson, MS, RMHCI, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Odie Anderson, is a 22 year United States Navy veteran, who left the military in 2012 to pursue his life’s dream of helping people. He has worked in the education, coaching and helping fields his entire career. He was an electronics technician by trade, having the knack for solving very complicated problems with ease and confidence. Odie takes a systemic approach to helping others and gets to the core of the issues that are hampering his clients’ lives. He has worked as a middle school teacher, behavior health technician, clinical intern in an adolescent residential treatment facility, as a pastor and as a primary therapist in an adolescent residential treatment facility. He holds a Master of Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Mental Health Counseling and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida. He is a member of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and the South Florida Association of Christian Counselors (SFACC). He resides in Port St Lucie, FL with his wife and two children.
Chase Herrera, Group Facilitator/Case Manager
Chase graduated in 2015 from the University of Toronto as a certified addiction counselor, since graduation Chase has worked in the field of addiction and mental health as Case Manager and a Group Facilitator. Since 2011 Chase has been involved public speaking to High School, college students and families affected by addiction and mental health.
Heather Morehouse, MS, EAGALA Certified, Equine Assisted Psycho-Therapist (Mindful Trails)
Heather has been busy working with families since her graduation from Stony
Brook University in NY with a Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and Family Studies.
She worked with community based agencies and the health insurance companies as an
advocate/supervisor for NYS Child Health Plus Program assisting children to gain health
insurance for 10 years. After moving to Florida, Heather pursued her interest in horses
helping people. She received her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Springfield
College as she earned her Certification in the field of Equine Assisted Psycho-Therapy/ Equine
Assisted Learning. She became certified by Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association
(EAGALA), the Model in Equine Assisted Psycho-Therapy. Heather completed her internships in
MHC and her EAGALA training while working in addiction treatment centers. Heather has
teamed up with Sue Copeland, owner of Hopes, Dreams and Horses, to incorporate her passion
for Solution Focused Interventions and her strong background in substance abuse counseling
with the healing power of horses. Heather brings compassion and the ability to see beyond
the behaviors of addiction to assist in the healing of her clients.
Richard Malone, Admissions/Outreach Coordinator
Rich has been dedicated to the substance abuse field for over 5 yrs. As a self-motivated and passionate member of our team, Rich works hard to ensure that our clients transition into, and out of treatment, is as smooth and stress free as possible. You will always find Rich with a smile on his face and an infectious positive attitude. During his downtime, Rich enjoys quality family time with his wife and two amazing sons.
Rashard Alston, Client Coordinator
Rashard brings his passion and dedication for helping others to our team. A Consummate professional with 10 years of experience working with those suffering from mental health challenges and addictions. Well versed in every aspect of our facility from Admissions to Discharge, he brings a unique perspective to his role as our Client Coordinator. Taking pride in ensuring the client’s stay is as comfortable and stress free as possible, whether it’s scheduling sober fun activities or ensuring they are able to celebrate their spiritual beliefs, he makes it his life’s goal to help our clients acclimate to a strange environment with a friendly and considerate approach.
Thomas Collins, Transporter
Mr. Collins has over 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics infrastructure systems in commercial and government sectors. First in the military where he served proudly for 12 years and continuing his penchant for organization in the private sector until 2013 when he joined the New Life Team where he bring his skills of organization and transportation coupled with a heart for others, he personally greets each client when they get off the plane and gives a warm smile letting them know “I’m here for you” ensuring they get to their destination safely and comfortably.
